Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Do you provide your own equipment?

A: Yes, I provide all the equipment necessary to perform my set. This includes my turntables, a speaker, a table, and all other electrical cords and plug-ins.

Q: How long does it take to set up/breakdown?

A: Usually it takes 40-50 minutes to set up or breakdown. Therefore, I will come 1 hour before my start time to set up.

Q: How do you accept payments?

A: Payments can be made through a variety of methods including cash, check, Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, and debit card. Weddings or special events that are being booked more than 4 months in advance will require a deposit upfront. The total payment must be paid by the end of the event.

Q: What types of music do you play?

A: My main niche is Hip-Hop/Rap and Old School 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s music. The other genres I also play include Pop, Rock, Reggae, and a little bit of Hispanic/Latin, Country, and Afrobeats.

Q: Do you provide a microphone or MC services?

A: Yes, MC services come free for any event. MC services include a wireless dynamic microphone which can used by anyone. MC services are set up automatically for weddings. For other events, just ask in advance for a microphone so it can be set up in a timely manner.

Q: Do you have a contract or require a deposit?

A: Yes to both of those questions. A contract is required to be signed for weddings and heavily populated events. The same goes for deposits as that is also needed to secure a booking for a wedding or a heavily populated event. The other cases where deposits are required are events that are being booked out more than 4 months in advance.

Q: What is included in your hourly rates? What exactly am I paying for?

A: When hiring me as a DJ, there’s a lot of work that goes into performing and prepping for the set. All of the rates and packages include the standard features: customized playlists, MC services, and all equipment provided. Performances are always done on the spot with a vast majority of it being improvised. However, there is a lot of prep and behind-the-scenes work that goes into making the sets cohesive and customized. What you’re essentially paying for is the behind-the-scenes labor, set up and takedown labor, driving and gas costs, and the DJ service itself.
